Glam Purple

2 years ago I was more into bolder, striking, attention-getting eyeshadows.
I was so influenced by Panacea and Monroemisfit
that I even gave away my neutrals and smokey eyeshadows.
My taste for makeup evolves every year. I'm so fickle minded as well.
Now I'm into smokey browns and thick heavy winged eyeliners and cat eyes.

I have here some pictures from 2008.
I love looking back at my looks and evaluating if it's a yay or nay after a few years.
In this picture I attended a company christmas party.

The theme was just smart casual but since I'm a rule breaker I went for rockstar look. lol

Face:
Mac Studiotech NW20
Prestige concealer
Mac Heatherette Beauty Powder in Smooth Harmony
L'oreal Blush Delice in Sugar Praline
Revlon powder blush in Sandalwood beige
Avon True color powder foundation (i forgot the shade)

Lancome color focus eyeshadow quad in blues
Careline eyeshadow pigments in blue and purple
Maybelline XXL mascara

Lips:
Mac Heatherette lipglass in Sockhop

with my office mate and gorgeous mom Bernalin
with my pretty officemate Gizel, who loves makeup as well.
I even gave some of my neutral eyeshadows to her

Katy Perry for Hello Kitty Inspired Look

It's an old post, around 2009 when I was inspired by this look, so copied my blog I made from myspace and posted it here so I can share it with everyone.

I'm not a Katy Perry fan,
but I was astonished when I accidentally discovered a picture of her
wowing the red carpet wearing a mac hello kitty inspired corset matched with
wet leggings and heeled gladiator.

But I swooned with envy when I saw her makeup!
It was again inspired from the mac hello kitty collection
and what can I say? she rocked it!

I just have one thing in mind, of course... to imitate it.
"I'll wear it on Saturday!!"

Ok enough for now, here's my mediocre take:

(forgive me for the terrible watermark, i have to do this for my own protection)
(people got sticky hands these days)
and the picture quality sucks, coz i just used my phone camera

 FACE:
Revlon Colorstay Foundation in Sand Beige
Dollface 15 concealer palette
Maybelline Angel Fit powder foundation
L'oreal Airwear breathable powder foundation in Cream
Mac Heatherette Beauty powder in smooth harmony
L'oreal blush delice in Pink Marshmallow

EYES:
Mac Stars and Rockets
Lancome color focus quad in peep and spectra
Mac Carbon Eyeshadow
Elf eyeshadow palette in Dream
Estee Lauder Black Eyeliner
Diorshow mascara
The Faceshop false eyelashes
Lips:
Mac Heatherette lipstick in Hollywood Nights
mixed with
Sophie Martin lipstick in Sexy Nude

Since the corset was impossible, I tried to match the look with the kitty
accessories I could possibly find.
Necklace was from Avon's Hello Kitty Collection

The Britney Era (get her makeup look)

Did you know Britney has an interview with make-up artist before hiring them?
Her make-up artist say she lets them be creative,
but don't believe she doesn't have any input.
She is very aware of how important it is that her make-up goes with her personality.
Plus the people she chooses will spend hours
(2 hours for videos or photo shoots + 1 hour for hair)
and even travel with her,
so imagine how close they get to be!

Here's a list of some great make-up artist n where they've worked with her,

and the exact makeups they used plus some tips.
 L'Oreal's makeup pro, Collier Strong,
who has made up some of the world's most famous faces,
explains Brit's "Britney Era" look.
"Playing up the eyes is crucial for a sultry, sex goddess look.
In the videos for her 'Overprotected', and 'Slave 4 U',
makeup artists created the ultimate smoky eye by blending brown shadows
layered with black eyeliner, and long, lush black lashes.
The rest of her face is kept neutral but sexy,
with a natural flush-colored shimmer blush,
and a glossy nude/pink lip."
