Maleficent Inspired Makeup

Yesterday was a really a good day! Coz Francis (my hubby) and I went out for a movie date. He really kept his promise. Though we're busy with our baby we still go out together like we're just starting to date. We also can't wait for our dear Draven (our baby) to come with us and watch a movie together. Francis loves those Marvel and DC Comics characters, he can't wait to share it with our son and watch the new sequel someday. Well, for now, he has no choice but to watch Maleficent with me. I told him this is the movie that I've been waiting for since it was announced last year.

The coolest thing about it is the pizza party prior to the movie screening.
2 boxes of pizza was just for the two of us, and we finished it in just 10 minutes!
Voracious appetite indeed. He kept mocking me and he told the staffs of that pizza parlor that 1 box isn't enough for me. Quite embarrassing. I'm skinny anyway, no one will believe him...

The movie's awesome. It's more than what I expected it to be. The twist, how Angelina Jolie portrayed her character.. everything's perfect! Plus Lana Del Rey sang the "Once Upon A Dream" soundtrack that we heard at the end of the movie and it's bit creepy for me. I dunno. Just . Creepy. It's like it's Maleficent's voice.

Angelina and Brad's daughter Vivienne made a cameo as young Aurora. I really laughed when she asked Maleficent to pick her up, stared at her and tried to pull out her horns out.

Aside from the beauty of Moors, I'm fascinated by Maleficent's makeup. It's different onscreen than those I saw in picture and movie screencaps. I'm still thinking what lippies should I mix together just to achieve that dark red lippie with a blue based tone.

When she transformed herself into an evil witch her makeup has become heavier.
Smokey brown eyes, thick eyeliners, fuller thicker lashes. Her lips on screen were sometimes matte, but during a close up shot it becomes a bit glossy and glittery. Angelina's teeth were so white yo! They really do gleam!

I'm not really sure if the makeup artist for this movie really used what Mac Cosmetics has launched, or maybe it's just inspired by this movie. The eyeshadow quad's quite nice,I've found out that the shades were a regular Mac Cosmetics eyeshadows compiled into a palette. They're Ground Brown, Carbon, Goldmine and Concrete but I just want
a plain black 4x pro palette than this one . Not really digging those wings.

The packaging seems a like a toy for me, and if I could only have two eyeshadows from the eyeshadow quad it will only be Carbon and Ground Brown. But then I could get a 2x pro palette for a lesser cost and choose maybe just Brown down and Carbon.

Makeup time! Since I have a little free time I'll do what I've been dying to do since last week.
My take on Maleficent's Makeup Look.

Never ending collage. I just love how it looked on my webcam. I tried to remove my makeup before saying hi to my students. It looks so sharp and fierce I might scare my little kids.

What about you girls? Any suggestions for a good lippie combination
that might end up into what Maleficent's wearing on the movie?
Hope you all enjoyed the movie!

Frozen Elsa Inspired Makeup

I've promised my 6 year old cousin that I will transform her into Elsa for a day.
Here she is, satisfied and her with how she looked that day. Just like young girls these days,
she loves Frozen. She sings "Do you want to build a snowman" and "Let it go" almost everyday. My 7 month old baby is somehow familiarized with its tune, he smiles
whenever he hears her sing.

Frozen has been the most successful 3D animation movie for children of all ages. Sometimes I get sick and tired of hearing people singing "let it go", let alone those posting their own covers on youtube.

I've watched it only until the middle of the story. I was too busy then. However I'm familiar with the characters and I can predict how it will end. I already know why the title is Frozen though I haven't finished it based on the series of events that have happened.

Though Anna is is quite known as Elsa's sister, Elsa has been the famous one. Just look at her eye makeup. They look fierce. Shimmery purple, pink, a bit of faint orange and thick eyeliner and thick eyelashes. I love it but I have no time to recreate it on my own eyelids.

So I just let my little cousin Jana have the time of her life as Elsa. She loves it and she looks really pretty.

Here are the makeups I used on her. She was so talkative the whole time! She keeps on asking me several things like "why do you have one million makeups?" "how long will it take for you to finish it? "what are you using on my eyes?" "why it's taking too long?" "Am I going to wear your false eyelashes?" and mooooorrre questions.. I just told her to stop talking coz I couldn't concentrate.

It's Maxipeel Concealing Cream. Seriously?? hahaha who told you to use such???

Now here's my masterpiece for that day.
She's really happy.

and now here's her no filter, no enhancement selfie that I've found on my camera!

Now who among you loves Elsa? I suggest you guys should do it to young kiddos too and let them become a princess for a day. They love it, I'm sure they won't forget it.

Speaking of kiddos, look what my husband bought for me that night..

A Venomous Villain: Maleficent Collection for Mac Cosmetics

Maleficent is the fictional horned villain who needle-poked Aurora a.k.a sleeping beauty,
that induced her to sleep for years. I got a little bored watching the 1959 film, but then
Disney has revamped it and has added a little oomph and twist to the story and this time it
focuses more on Maleficent and how did a good girl has gone bad. As in really BAD.
I'm really excited for it! I saw the trailer in 3D, and it reminds me of Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland.

She's less known. For years she's just there, a classic. Originally in the 1959 movie her skin color was green. Her chin's too pointed, no jaw. Unibrows were heavily stroked, too angled. Eyes were deep set in shades of her own complexion and purple. Eyes perfectly lined with a strong black liner. Lips were small in dark crimson shade. She has a pet raven.

I totally forgot who she is until Mac Cosmetics launched the Venomous Villains Collection
way back Fall of 2010.  It mainly features more Disney Villains like Evil Queen, Cruella Deville and Dr. Facilier.

I didn't take Dr. Facilier's collection coz he isn't appealing for me.

I was in love with the Maleficent collection coz of the shades chosen for her were really dark, gothic and glittery. There's glittery purple, blue, green and the nail polish shades were really gorgeous. I was dying to have the Violetta lipstick but unfortunately it was already out of stock.

Then for 2014 Mac Cosmetics launched a new collection solely for her. This time the shades were more on the neutral side to dark and smokey. Instead of purple lips, they opted for bright red just like Angelina Jolie's lips for the movie.

For Angelina's makeup in the movie, she has pale skin with chiseled cheeks, or deeply contoured rather with a very prominent slash protruding cheekbones. Eyes were deeply set that emphasizes her uniquely colored iris. Brows were groomed well and perfectly angled.
Lips were bloodily bright.

My best friend sent me a message that she wants to watch the movie and there's a makeup collection launched for it, she was asking me to search and without batting an eyelash I told her it's Mac. She laughed. She said I know makeups so well. Sigh. If only she's here, we're definitely gonna watch it together. She's still in Singapore and happily shopping Louis Vuitton Damier Ebene bags.

Good thing my husband saw the trailer and he said we'll be watching it together. It's a fair deal when I took him to Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier in 3D. I'm really excited! Aren't you guys excited? I'll be wearing the same makeup inspired by this face chart from the 2014 collection, with cheeks less chiseled and zero horns! ^_^
Let me know if you guys love it!!
