Sweet Screams: Monster High Spectra Vondergeist Inspired Makeup

Sigh. They're all growing up. Seeing them turn into young ladies make me think that I'm so old already. Yesterday my cousin Micah turned 11, and threw up a simple Monster High Themed party. I don't know what's with my family these days that we're into themed parties. It started on my son Draven's first birthday, then Jana's Frozen Themed party and now this. Unlike the first two birthdays I've mentioned this one isn't planned well, but then it was spiced up by the cake made by my aunt and a makeup for young girls inspired by the characters from Monster High. Since my aunt can easily make cakes into any character that you wish, we all now look forward to our birthdays. I'm still thinking what cake do I really want for my own
birthday...
I'm a big Monster High fan and maybe if I'm still a bit younger I'll collect all the dolls and I will throw up a party with the same theme. Most of the dominant colors were fuschia pink, dark purple, royal blue, midnight blue and black. The ghouls were all uniquely created with one of a kind names inspired by spooky characters. I know Halloween's over and I was supposed to do the same makeup look for Hallow's eve but then I was too busy. Now that I'm given a chance to do it again I was really excited for Micah's birthday.
Taking all the colors for inspiration, here's my Spectra Vondergeist Inspired Makeup. It's actually hard to have those big doll eyes and I don't want to wear dolly lenses or too thick false eyelashes, so I just took all the colors that could possibly represent Spectra through my makeup creation. Atleast we have the same eyebrows and face shape.
Spectra is the daughter of ghosts. She can pass through walls and hear conversations in each classroom so she knows every latest gossip from Skull Shores. Her favorite color is purple and she has a best friend, her pet named Ferret Rhuen. She's my favorite from Monster High, and the others were as badass and as awesome as her.
A photo of my paraphernalia that day. We were at my grandma's terrace, a perfect place to hang out with young girls and do their makeup. I'm a young at heart and I get along well with younger generation. You can also say I'm still immature for my age, but it doesn't hurt if people or random strangers think you're only around 18 or 21. With my height and body build I can say kids these days were really bigger than me.
Another solo shot of my Spectra inspired makeup. Camera used was from iphone. We're supposed to use a DSLR camera from Canon but the memory card has been corrupted. The color payoff's still great in broad daylight. No false eyelashes used, and just a minor cheek contouring enough to be appropriate for a day makeup.

Here's me doing my cousin Carlyn's makeup, still having the inspirations taken from their chosen MH characters. There were more young girls who joined the fun, had their makeups applied and took hundreds of selfies using their latest gadgets. Kids these days were really far from the 90's kids..

The before and after shot

Carlyn chose Venus Mcflytrap and Micah chose Elissabat Hauntlywood

I chose Draculaura for my cousin Jana for the cute heart on her cheeks.

Frights, Camera, Action!

The three of us: Micah, me and Carlyn. Jana's nowhere to be found once again.

With a poker face, my baby wants to say 'hi'!

January has been really good. Full of birthdays, parties and family get together.
See you all for another colorful February post. Today's really cold I should be taking a shower now or else, I might endure a chilly water and suffer hypothermia. Adios!! :)

Day and Night Makeup: Rihanna's Who's That Chick? MV Inspired

How are you lovelies? :) Thought July will pass without a post? I thought so too.
I've been pretty busy lately, writing and researching for my article with Rebelsmarket, editing the pictures of SS109 when I have time, doing my online jobs and at the same time doing my tasks as a married woman.

One boring day, my 12 year old cousin came to my house. I've promised her before that I'll do her makeup and take pictures of her. No, she's not the one that i've transformed before as Elsa, but she wants a colorful look too. Since I wasn't feeling well also as I was having flu-like symptoms, I wanted to divert my attention and do something awesome and fun.

I told Carlyn we'll do the Day and Night version of Rihanna's makeup from her
music video "Who's that Chick?" with David Guetta. The video was released January of 2011, which has been one of my all time favorites. Honestly I just love it because of her makeup. That's one genius idea of making a catchy music vid.

For the day makeup it fits my little cousin as it is vibrant, colorful and playful.
Whereas for the night version of course I want it. A sucker for gothic makeups.
We played up with my makeup palettes and it took us an hour, 30 minutes each.(You just can't rush perfection.. but it isn't perfectly applied though..)

I'm really in love with my eyeshadow palettes. They're really pigmented and really bright in person. Even my customers have the same feedback. This is the reason why I've decided to sell it. I'm honestly a fan of these palettes from another online store and they're pretty pricey. Now that I have a direct supplier I won't be frowning with its price, and of course I'm selling it for a price cheaper than the others.

While shooting these pictures my other cousin Atta Marie helped us to take some good shots. My son's also there, playing with my stuff and his minion that when turned on, it sings.. Psy's Gangnam Style. (whatda!)

We rarely get a chance to hangout, coz my cousins were busy with their school.
My other cousins were now in college, and one's already working with Philippine Airlines. They'll just visit me whenever they need makeups. If I open their makeup pouch, it's full of makeups from me. My collection's starting to vanish, and has started to migrate to their bags... It's ok, I love them anyway, and atleast they don't have to spend money, they just need to see me..

I'm sure I'm their favorite makeup artists too.. coz they don't have to pay just to have one.. They just call me and sometimes I don't have any choice but to say yes. How I wish I have my own makeup artist when I was young.
It's hard being the first born in the family.

Aside from the palettes and the beautiful colors it create on my face, I'm in love with my new pearls. I've lost my old pair during my son's christening dayI don't have to cry and think about the old one anymore, as the new one is freaking gorgeous. I'm sure my best friend Kitty will like it..

Lastly, please check out and like my online cosmetics business.
The palettes that I've been using all came from Sugar Skull Cosmetics.

Do you also love Riri's music video? I know it's old but still it's often being recreated as most MUAs love her look. I'm a big fan of Riri and I always listen to her old and new songs on my playlist.
Have you tried her Mac Lipstick Riri Woo? :)

A short prayer for you lovelies..

Frozen Elsa Inspired Makeup

I've promised my 6 year old cousin that I will transform her into Elsa for a day.
Here she is, satisfied and her with how she looked that day. Just like young girls these days,
she loves Frozen. She sings "Do you want to build a snowman" and "Let it go" almost everyday. My 7 month old baby is somehow familiarized with its tune, he smiles
whenever he hears her sing.

Frozen has been the most successful 3D animation movie for children of all ages. Sometimes I get sick and tired of hearing people singing "let it go", let alone those posting their own covers on youtube.

I've watched it only until the middle of the story. I was too busy then. However I'm familiar with the characters and I can predict how it will end. I already know why the title is Frozen though I haven't finished it based on the series of events that have happened.

Though Anna is is quite known as Elsa's sister, Elsa has been the famous one. Just look at her eye makeup. They look fierce. Shimmery purple, pink, a bit of faint orange and thick eyeliner and thick eyelashes. I love it but I have no time to recreate it on my own eyelids.

So I just let my little cousin Jana have the time of her life as Elsa. She loves it and she looks really pretty.

Here are the makeups I used on her. She was so talkative the whole time! She keeps on asking me several things like "why do you have one million makeups?" "how long will it take for you to finish it? "what are you using on my eyes?" "why it's taking too long?" "Am I going to wear your false eyelashes?" and mooooorrre questions.. I just told her to stop talking coz I couldn't concentrate.

This Etude House Bright Fit BB Cream was bought by my husband when we went to Etude House in Greenbelt. He ran out of his BB cream (which was originally mine, the Shini Star)
coz when I found out what he was using on his face a year ago we were laughing about it.
It's Maxipeel Concealing Cream. Seriously?? hahaha who told you to use such???

Now here's my masterpiece for that day.
She's really happy.

and now here's her no filter, no enhancement selfie that I've found on my camera!

Now who among you loves Elsa? I suggest you guys should do it to young kiddos too and let them become a princess for a day. They love it, I'm sure they won't forget it.
xoxox

Speaking of kiddos, look what my husband bought for me that night..

A Monster High Pencil Case. He knows I love them.
Perfect for my eyeliners and mini brushes. :)
