January ~ February Guestings at MAC Cosmetics

Hello everyone! It's 2017 and I still couldn't keep my sh*t together! Anyways what's new?
The hectic yet dreadul and fun December left me extremely exhausted til January, but it's such a nice welcome for a new year to be back at my favorite playground/beauty haven.

Yep I'm talking about M.A.C. Cosmetics.
I was thrilled once again to receive a call and a request for duty from my Estee Lauder/MAC family.
I've already notified the HR head that come January and I'll be working with them as a guest once again. So for January I had two guestings with my MAC Family at Alabang Town Center.

The fun part? I was with pro mua Marsie whom I haven't seen for a long time. The bonus part is that I get to chat with pro mua Jazel Vergara and we clicked right away. Also, I had a great time hanging out with M.A.C. Artist Marybelle, Bobbi Brown muas Neal Vicente and Jacob Guatiz  and Fredah of Hermes plus Miss Estee of Estee Lauder.

I had two guestings with M.A.C Alabang and there's another thrilling thing that happened when February came. I received a message from the Store Manager of M.A.C. SM Mall of Asia for another guesting, another home! :) Thanks again to my sis Marsie La Sangre. I got this wonderful referral from her.

This time, I've had a total of 10 guestings with them, the most I've had for a month and it was such a good training ground for me. M.A.C. Mall of Asia is more dynamic since the store's bigger.

You'll encounter more foreigner, yep really from Asian countries to American, African and European. My skills have definitely hone up more since I've experienced working with NW tones, plus it helped me speed up my makeup application for each client. Did I mention I'm more confident now to work with their product and my wishlist to have all those dreamy MAC makeups were too long.

I get to test more products and use it on my clients, I was also given a sales quota and a product payment in return that I will request by the end of the month and probably receive it a month or two from now. If you wanna ask how much is the product payment, it's a whopping 2,500 worth of prod per day! :)

It was definitely such a blessing and I was asked by my fellow muas how to become a guest artist, I've tried to help some but still the decision for their stores to ask for your guesting still relies with their head office at Estee Lauder Cosmetics. I've referred a lot but they're still on the waiting list. Please be patient and soon you'll all experience to become one. I've posted on my previous post the responsibilities of a guest and the perks. You can read it here: My Experience As A MAC Guest Artist

One thing I love about being a M.A.C. Artist that I'm also experiencing though I'm a guest is that you get to wear the most stylish black clothes you have and the most bad ass beat face. You are actually required to wear the most impeccable look as YOU ARE A MAC ARTIST. You are also treated fairly as a regular MAC Artist with your fellow co-artist and bosses.

One of my fave outfits of all time:

My MOTDs

Heart's day at the store! Red rose from my husband :)

I'll be blogging more about my guesting and soon I hope it's all about my new MAC products! Looking back from my previous blog posts (back when I first started blogging) I've always wanted to be where I am now. You just don't quit on your dream (though I wanted to quit many times). All we need is a little "push". Ciao!
XOXO, Miss Vixen

My Experience as a MAC Guest Artist

Before I say something for this short post, let me scream OH MY GOD!! **at the top of my lungs**

Another check on my bucket list. I've been dreaming about this all my life, to be a MAC Artist even just for a day. Many girls would definitely agree since it's every girl's dream as soon as they reach the age of 20 and start swooning over makeups, don't forget the aspiring and even pro MUA's goal, for sure.

It was a life long dream that I just don't know how to accomplish since I can't commit on working 6 days a week, but I'm still considering if I really want to become a full time, full pledged MAC Artist.

So it started when I bumped into Miss Marsie La Sangre and I've found out she's a guest artist for MAC. It usually lasts for 4 to 5 days only, and you have an option if you want product payment or monetary payment. I've been endorsed at MAC Rustan's Alabang and everything happened smoothly and swiftly. I was on duty for five days (Sept.1-5)

I've already met my co-Artists the day before and should I say I never felt at home with a job for a long time? I've met the manager Miss Jane, Ethel and Aron, and they encouraged me to apply the next day as they said I'm already welcome, just have to push with my plans. :)

FIRST DAY

I went to Estee Lauder Cosmetic's Office first for my interview and got my pass/ID at Rustan's office in Oppen Building. Wearing a corporate all black (should I say corporate goth style?) with high heels and full beat face, I was requested to start my with my first day asap. As soon as Miss Ethel handed me the brush belt, I was like "Dang! So this really is it!"

My first day wasn't really hard, or should I say I didn't have a hard time coz I totally love what I'm doing. By the way, fones were not allowed for Rustan's employees so I only get the chance to have my picture taken with the gang whenever my hubby visits me at the store.

THE JOB

Just like the MAC Artists, I'm there to assist the beauty needs and queries of each client, do some makeovers, give tips, techniques, suggest products and make every clients feel welcome and at the same time purchase more of what they're planning to get. :) On my free time I help maintain the store by helping them to clean, arrange the cosmetics display and even the stocks on each shelf. Still, it's such a fun task. More importantly, it's a plus if you know the products by heart since most clients ask for your opinion, best shades to get and more. I even exceeded my quota!

THE PERKS

You get to experience all MAC products and brushes! It's like every three hours I change my lippie color, retouch my makeup or add more colors to it. One time I went on a glam goth mode and used Instigator lipstick mixed with Sin for an ombre look and most clients bought it! If I'm not in the mood for dark shades I reach for Please Me lipstick or Back in Vogue retro matte liquid lipstick.

You'll also meet new friends from the fragrance/perfumery and even from other Estee Lauder Cosmetics Companies.

More pictures!

With my new friends Ethel and May.

The whole gang (minus Miss Jane) L-R: Angel, Ethel, Me, Aron and May.

The person who never fails to support me with my craziness these days, my husband. :)

Looking forward for my next guesting with MAC or other ELC companies.
If you're a MUA and you want to become a guest artist, let me know so I can also help you become one. I was also given a chance and was given help so might as well return the favor to my fellow MUAs.

Makeup Demo & Mini Workshop at Mac Cosmetics Glorietta

Hi Lovelies! How have y'all been? April has been a busy yet a good one so far.
I was actually busy making myself busy. lol. I've been to Boracay with my family and friends and two makeup workshops. I'm honestly more excited to share with you those workshops more than our bora trip, so maybe I'll blog about that next time.

Last Friday my husband and I went to Makati for an ocular visit of 6788 tower for another upcoming makeup workshop and later that night we'll be watching The Avengers: Age of Ultron movie. Since it'll start late I went to the Mac Cosmetics store in Glorietta 3 since it's the only therapy I got to maintain my sanity. A young Mac Artist named Marcky assisted me and we had a conversation. For the first time in my makeup career and addiction, I met a very humble and accommodating Mac Artist. We talked about the upcoming collections and more. He invited me to come over and watch a makeup demo/mini workshop for the next day with another Mac Artist and store supervisor  Ms. Del Anthony. I was even introduced to her and just like Marcky, she's very accommodating.

I came by the next day and I was late, they actually started 2 hours earlier, coz Marcky told me it'll start around 3pm and they started around 1pm. Though I missed the first demo for the first model I was able to observe how Ms. Del applied Mac Rebel lipstick with the second pretty model and seal it to avoid bleeding. I've also seen how the face should be set and how mists can freshen up the face and even the whole makeup applied will look fresh as well.

Ms. Del even encouraged us to ask questions. Most of the techniques I also learned were all about concealing facial flaws like blemishes and correcting dark under eye area.

These are the Mac products used for the models. I really wish have them all!
For blemishes Mac Studiofix Fluid Foundation does the trick, even without using a concealer. You just have to pat it on top of blemishes using 190 and 187 brush then set it with Mac Fix. According to Ms. Del Mac Fix is the most used Mac product by Makeup artists backstage. I have to agree coz most models from any fashion show have dewy fresh skin while doing their catwalk on the runway.
After the workshop I tested almost all the products and as always I'm in love with their lipsticks. Here  I am wandering around. Testing products and having short conversation with other Mac Artists.

***************************************************

My hand after swatching all the lippies from frost, matte, luster to creamsheen finish. Me want some Razzle Dazzler,Sushi Kiss, Sweet and Sour, Kinda Sexy and finally I think I've found a lippie that has the same shade and finish like my first ever Mac Lipstick named Gliss that's already discontinued. I just forgot the shade of that particular lippie. I also like their lipglass in Angel and Oyster girl.

Soon I will join again their next workshop the next technique that I want to learn from Ms. Del which is the "no makeup makeup". Just glowing skin and healthy looking complexion. Ms. Del told me on my IG they'll have one this weekend but I have a makeup gig in the morning so maybe next time.
I swear I was dying that day to get Mac Studiofix Fluid foundation and Mac Studiofinish concealer but I think I better save up more coz come May and Mac is beauty collection will be launched.

Meet my cousin Kim. She was with me the whole day yet she doesn't want to have her photos taken.

Lastly for my ootd. I went for a punk rock chick look, which is my all time favorite.
Though my face is painted with makeups, I love it when I wear gender bender clothes.
It brings out the rebel in me. By the way, I've received a lot of personal message asking me about my Barbie wants to be me tee, and the Mac artists love my spiky high tops! They said it'll also look great for their uniform that is black ensemble. They're very stylish and they didn't fail to accessorize the outfit.

I hope to see you lovelies on their next next workshop! Please look forward for my upcoming post for Heroine Make Kiss me by Isehan Event. Adios Beybeh!
