American Flag Inspired Makeup

Just a short post for you lovelies! 

My article with RebelsMarket about Patriotic Glam has been officially published on their blog and I had the opportunity to play with colors all belonging to the American Flag. If you have time you can read and find out the tips I shared, and the possible looks you can do with your eyes, whether you're ready for a loud look or just a simple one with still a touch of red, blue and white.

I'm also officially sticking to my interest as I'll be sharing more articles with RebelsMarket that are all concerned with beauty and cosmetics, and still a bit of subculture fash & style. Weeks prior to my article being published, I posted a sneak peek on my Instagram about what I'm currently working on and the involved look.

Now here's my photo that was featured on my article. It's my selfie using the 5 megapixel front camera of my Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime (best selfie phone ever).

The Patriotic Glam article I wrote is also appropriate for the 4th of July Inspired look. Jangsara's recreation of Captain America Inspired Makeup is one of my favorite eye makeup looks of all time.

But then of course for next month I'll be showing some love for my country as we'll be commemorating Independence Day. Color inspiration isn't too far from the American Flag coz I'll still be using red, blue and white with a touch of yellow.

How's your Valentines lovelies? Time really flies and I still can remember my first valentine with my hubby and the 3 red roses that surprised me last year. For this year it's another surprise once again.

February 14, 2014 - Mine didn't start romatically or as planned.

Since I'm about to start working with my new job I have to finish my requirements. I need an NBI clearance and I had to go to Tagaytay City. I prefer it more than experiencing something worse like summer slam in U.N. Avenue.

I plan to go to Tagaytay earlier than 4am. My husband went to his bandmate's

house to practice, and came home around 3am. I only slept for 30 mins.

He brought home foods, then decided to go with me and finish my clearance..

so also he didn't sleep at all as well.

When we arrived there it was freezing cold!! It was still dark. Sunrise came it was foggy and it got colder. We forgot that it's Valentines day. We're both sleepy and cold, hugging each other. Before the gates opened he told me he's really sleepy, couldn't put himself together but then from time to time he cracks funny jokes and funny stories.

I laughed the whole time I waited.I was pretty sure my clearance will be released by afternoon so I told him to go straightly at home and get some sleep.

After 3 hours I'm already done and I went home immediately coz I was dying to doze off.

When I got home I found him sleeping on our bed and I kissed him. He woke up, kissed me and told me to look at my makeup box.

I found these beautiful flowers with my favorite dessert, custard cake.

I was really happy!!

It has a love note too. Maybe due to his sleeplessness he immediately wrote this.

What goes next is rather hilarious.

and numerous likes.

Yup, he used my fave red lippie. How did I find it out?

While reading the note again I tried to touch the letters. At first I thought he used a crayon, then I thought maybe it's my red lipliner since there's now way there's a red crayon in my room. When I looked at my fingers I saw a pinkish tinge to it and I realized something.

It looks like Mac's Russian Red!!!

I tried to check my lippie out and yes I found out the pitiful fate it has gone into.

Oh well, I love his surprise anyway. He jokingly said he thought it's a marker!! The note itself is more precious than any lipstick in the world. It doesn't matter. I can have as many lipsticks as I want to, but this note that he wrote is just for the heart's day. I'll treasure it forever. I love you Daddy Sexy!

What To Do With Your Yellow Cab Ice Cream Can

My highschool friends, my husband and I had a dinner together at Yellow Cab Dasmarinas.

Well, the last time we ate out it was January of 2013, and that's more than a year ago! 

For the first time I also met my best friend's older brother, Kuya Lee Carl.

I also had a chance to bond more with my husband since he didn't go to work that day.

Baby's left with my mom. We had fun at the dining table, hubby's cracking funny jokes.

Then there's these 3 ice cream with different flavors for dessert. Pistachio. chocolate and vanilla. Pistachio's weird!! it tastes like max cherry candy. Yellow Cab Ice creams were famous not for it's taste I guess, but it's coz of its can. You'll definitely have that urge to keep it after finishing and satisfying your sweet tooth. Once again, I'm not into sweet food, so it was just ok for me. Mcdonald's sundae is still the best.

After pigging out, I wanted one of those cans coz I can use it for something.

When I got home, mom washed it, then it became like this:

It's a very good holder for my Mac bullets and other lippies! I can easily see what to use and what to pick. It can hold 12 lippies, or if it's all Mac maybe it can hold up to 13 Mac bullets.

Inspired Look: 2ne1's CL and Kat Von D

I did an inspired look of both icons that I love but not on myself. There are times that I want to apply makeup on my face but the camera and my face itself were not in the mood, and I couldn't do it well. Sigh..

I asked my two cousins if I can paint their face for a day. First look is inspired by 2ne1's baddest female and their Leader CL. The photo is from their photo shoot from the famous designer Jeremy Scott and the inspired look for my cousin Shane.

  

I couldn't remember some of the stuffs I used coz as far as I remember we did this point and

shoot thing around August or September of last year, but what I precisely remember is that there's supposed to be a lip tattoo very much similar to CL's, but when I applied it on Shane's lower lip it looked pretty bad, the horizontal lines didn't go well and looked too big, 

so I used a white eyeliner, white eyeshadow and black gel liner instead.

For Kim I tried to recreate and be inspired by what Kat Von D looked at 2010 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. I've always been wanting to do a makeup look like hers but I failed to do so..Fortunately it looked good on my cousin, more importantly, her signature tattoo, the stars on her left temple.

The Tale of Red Lipstick

As a very pale and lifeless looking girl without makeup on,
I love bright lips.
From fuschia pink to bright corals and fire engine red,
I'll definitely wear it even if I just need to go to work.

These days I'm crazy over red lippies.
I've tried it a few times and sometimes
it's too overwhelming, but since my friends
said that my lips are too small for bright lippies
to get noticed, I feel relieved.

I've got soooo many red lipsticks on my wish list.
Until now I'm thankful that I got Russian Red with me,
prettiest red I ever had.
I'm still thankful to my dear friend Nelliberry.
Without her, I won't be able to discover the beauty of this lippie.
She told me it's looks really good on me.

A few months ago I told my friend Macky

that I want
a gothic or Psychobilly/Rockabilly/ pin up inspired photoshoot
but then both of us are still busy.

Two weeks ago I tried to glam up our
ordinary girl talk into a red lippie night.

Good thing I got a bestfriend who never let me do stupid things alone.
Other girlfriends found out that the lippie is really gorgeous
and works well on any skintone,
therefore everyone swiped my dear lippie on their lips.

The Red Lipstick is called Russian Red from Mac.

It's iconic as every famous celebrities swear by it

if they want to pull off an old hollywood/pin up look.
As you all know, I love Dita Von Teese.

She swears by Mac red lippies. Russian Red or Ruby woo.

I've seen Burlesque (2010) and I just hoped Dita played any of the part
from the movie. I like Christina but her voice is toooo HUUUGGEE!!
After watching this movie I fully understood the life of being a burlesque dancer.
 Quite good and really fun.

Movie's glittery, glam and girly.

Every performances are inspired by old hollywood.

Classy and Sexy.

My favorite part is when Cher gave Christina some

makeup lessons to how to achieve perfect cat eyes.

Cher said if the brush is bad, then it won't work.

She recommended her Smashbox eyeliner brush.

Do I want to be Burlesque dancer someday?

I figured out, it's a YES! :)

By the way, today I received a message from Jouseign Keifer,

Administrator of G-force Fan page and now a designer for Statement Art Accessories,

that the famous dance group in the Philippines 

G-Force is now offering Burlesque dance lessons in Alabang which will start this April.

Teacher will be Teacher Devon, open to all girls and girls at heart. 

For early registration and inquiries please call 0917-517-0802.

According to them, YOU WILL DANCE IN HEELS IF YOU ARE FIERCE.

I might try the dance lessons but performing it will be a big no no.

I don't have the courage, I couldn't even dance in heels.

I don't smoke and drink, Ironically the picture says so.

I just want to spend time and hang out with them.

One short or two won't hurt right?

I'm also a sucker for everything red and vintage
so I made some effects for the photos.
Red lippie stood out and complimented my red nail polish from Revlon.
I've bought a lot of nude and pale pink lippies.
It looks good in person but I look so washed out..
which is now my deepest regret. RIP NUDE LIPPIES.

Gone are the days for punk rock and glam goths,
