Michele Wylen: America's New Definition of Music

WARNING:

It's a long post, so if you're bored already then don't mind reading it.
IDGAF anyways. lol

I miss how America makes good quality music.
Ever since I hear songs about getting drunk,
getting laid or doing drugs, I don't listen to American songs that much.
Although some singers like Lady Gaga, Katy Perry or Rihanna makes music,
yeah it's quite catchy, but something is always missing,
or it lacks something.
Something that when you hear it, you will feel amazed,
or the feeling of "whoa!".
New songs nowadays sound pretty boring, repetitive, noisy,
and after hearing it over and over again or for the nth
time, you'll feel sick of it.

But someone made me realize there are still unique,
and genuine musicians out there.
Aside from being one of a kind, this singer is so special to me.

I want to introduce Michele Wylen.
She's a genius singer, music maker from Portland.
I love her. her music, and uniqueness.

I honestly have no idea how big she is now in America,
but I'm pretty sure she's damn famous there!

When I first listened to her music I was like,
"whoa!!!! this is so awesome!!"
The music sounds different from what I hear everyday,
like a breath of fresh air.
Her songs are very calming and relaxing.
She describes her music as Tribal Glam.
Glittering Synth Pop.
Deep Bass Eruptions.
F*cking Perfection! isn't it?

So expect synthetic modern tribal sounds
from her singles, plus a sweet, calm steady voice.
She's a songwriter, composer and producer in one.
It's real music bitches!!!

This singer is very dear to me.
Why?
Coz she's my friend.
My friend that I lost for almost 15 years without any communications at all.
I met her when I was 10 years old... I was only in 4th grade.
She was a transferee. A girl who was really different from us.
Her hair was blonde. Her eyes were hazel. She's so fair too!
Everyone were intimidated coz of course, she speaks fluent english,
so young kids and my classmates, although curious and excited to talk to her,
had extreme fears of bleeding to death due to our poor english communication skills.

She was quiet in class, an observer.
As a loner kid with no playmates and only allowed to stay at home,
I was so happy when I found out that
she lives a few blocks away from my house.
So there are times that I see her in the street after class,
playing with my neighbors.
(I watch them from a window coz I was a sad child lol)

One day, overconfidence suddenly struck me.
I talked to her, gathered all the english vocabs that I know,
and eventually, had a simple conversation with her.
One time, I asked her to eat lunch with me.
I think I had the biggest shock of my life,
when she whispered to my ear and said:
"marunong ako magtagalog eh,
kaso nahihiya akong malaman nila.
secret lang natin 'yon ha?"
and she giggled.

I was like,
oh God she can speak tagalog fluently I suffered from bleeding for weeks!!
Why she didn't tell me? lol

So yeah right that's how we became friends.
She's so good in Tagalog that the bleeding was gone, what a relief!
We played together in the afternoon after class,
sometimes she brings her cat named Fifi.
Or she sings in my house, using the infamous karaoke lol
she even gave me a casette tape recording her voice,
pretending that it's her album and I'm a big fan!!
She sings very well even at a young age, and that's her dream.
To become a famous singer.

Before the year ended,
Michele told me that she's leaving
and she'll go to Pasadena with her Dad.
That was the saddest news that I got,
coz that's the first time
that a close friend and a playmate left me.
She gave us a letter of farewell too.
She's sweet, playful and a thoughtful friend.
When she left, I didn't hear anything from her.

After 15 years of searching, I found her on facebook.
THANK YOU SO MUCH MARK ZUCKERBERG!!!

I found out that she's living her dreams now.
She's a better singer, she has a studio of her own,
she got piercings too, she looks taller than me
(coz I used to be so damn tall
and she used to be the second shortie in class)
 and she misses Philippines.

But, she's still the sweet thoughtful friend that I know,
she didn't change at all!
and she remembers me so well hohohohoho

I'm not saying that she's a good singer coz she's my friend.
I honestly didn't expect that her record and her album will be this good!
I want you to listen for yourself.
well, the songs are playing now on my playlist. ^_^

I hope she'll make it big.
Bigger than Britney, bigger than Gaga.

I'll be her biggest fan and biggest supporter.
I want to join her team too!
I'll be her tribal unicorn. lol ^_^

2ne1 in Manila & K-pop Acts

This afternoon I received a message from my friend Jho
about the confirmation of the upcoming "big" event this coming May.
There were speculations that it's gonna be Big Bang
coz I think there were clues that this time it's from YG Entertainment.
Many fangirls went crazy, but unfortunately,
Ms. Happee Sy announced that it's going to be a girl power.
It turned out, it's 2NE1 baby!

     Clap yo hands!!

Ms. Happee Sy has been very supportive of us, fangirls,
when it comes to trying to bring famous K-pop artists in the Philippines.
Her fiancee,(if I'm not mistaken they got engaged already)
Mr. Vernon Go, is behind the powerful Pulp Summer Slam every year.

Ms. Happee posted that if Mr. Vernon got a slam party
for boys, men and rockstars,
then she got treat for us girls!!
What a brilliant idea I must say!
I enjoyed it last year,
although it was sooo unruly and kinda scary.
It's weird that I also feel sleepy & tired
after hearing those constant noise of electric guitars and hoarse voices.

Well, my boyfriend got a thing for Summer Slam,
and I told him we'll go again this coming April 30th,
coz the next day will be his birthday.
Kinda like an early birthday treat.

I sent him a message that this time it's going to be fair,
coz girls got our own slam party too!!
and I really think this will become an annual event.
I think it will definitely succeed since fangirls are soooo willing to shell out cash
and starve themselves just to save and meet their biases.
Sorry I'm a fangirl too but I don't do extreme things to save money.
If I don't have any, then I don't go.
As simple as that.

Filipino artist might frown again thinking they are taken for granted.
If only they try harder to "level up",
then it won't be hard for them to get this kind of attention
the international artists are getting.

I hope it's going to be a girly version,
then there should be event shirts sponsored by a big clothing company.
Summer Slam got Tribal,
so what about us? maybe, SPAO? Fila? lol

there's no way it's going to be Vondutch.
There should be liquors too!
Tanduay Ice is ok! lol

I still don't have any idea on what it will turn out,
since the venue, if it's in SMX Convention hall
and not MOA open grounds, will be too small.

Until now I'm sad that I didn't get to to see
F.T. Island and Super Show 2, & 3 of Super Junior.
For F.T.I., mom & bf disapproved,
too late she became Hongki's fan because of He's beautiful
a month after their concert at PICC.
For Super Show, the tickets are pain in the @ss,
and don't forget the young rabid fangirls
that I could possibly bump into and start a war.
Yeah right some of my friends told me
that they've gotten into some verbal fights.

Psssh those little.... bitches...
ok anyways.. I'm excited!!

I've seen Rain's concert, U-Kiss, 4minute, Mighty Mouth,
Winterplay and of course
SHINee!!!
But I won't stop til I see my favorite Taemin.

Too bad he didn't make it last 2009,
coz he acquired swine flu.

Still hoping for more K-pop acts this year,
and possibly
SM Town Concert and SHINee World tour in 2012,
 hopefully before doomsday.
Oh~ what is life~

The concert is now moved. June 4. Araneta Coliseum ^^
