FOTD: Smokey Gray & Pink Lips using NYX Cosmetics

Last June, my friend Bevs from Kiko's Angels sent me a very wonderful gift.

Yes, it's NYX Smokey Look Kit!! (smokey gray)
Please visit her online shop on facebook:
http://facebook.com/kikos.angels1
Nyx products are always on sale!!
Be sure to be patient coz it's a pre-order basis.

Everybody knows that I'm a sucker for makeup and she's very generous.
We share the same birth month and it is so foolish and bad of me
that I didn't even give her any.
(I'm sorry sister!! I owe you big time promise!!)
June was the craziest and busiest month for me this year,
and I don't have much time to go online and even take pictures.
My skin even went ballistic and until now I feel so mad about it.
My integumentary system couldn't handle stress and dust. Ugh!
I even stopped blogging for a few months.

Now I'll be sharing my FOTD, actually I had it a few days ago. Lol
Some of my female friends were sending me messages on what particular product I used
and the lippie's shade.
**DENISSE ANGELICA MENESSES I MISS YOU!!!!**

What shades to use? I'll put heart on it.

Experiment: Maximize your Makeups (D-I-Y Tricks)

These are tricks that I usually do
whenever I left some of my makeups at home
or I want to experiment and maximize the use of my cosmetics.
It is safe to combine different makeup products and playfully experiment with it.
Remember the rule of thumb: Mix , blend, mix, blend.

D-I-Y Nude Lipstick

I love the Kardashians for pulling off nude lips and for rocking smokey eyes.
Unfortunately, some nude lipsticks washes me out coz I’m so pale and fair.
Using my 15 concealer palette,
I try to blend it on my lips to achieve the perfect nude
that will match my complexion,
then top it off with a pink lip gloss or lip balm.
Since the palette contains different shades of nudes and neutrals,
it's easy to find your perfect match.
Just remember to bleeeeend your hearts out!!

You will need:
Concealer of your choice
Pink lipgloss or lip balm

I personally use these:

Don't tell me it's a cheap thing to do this. Even Victoria Beckham does it. :)

D-I-Y  New Lip gloss

4 years ago I discovered it on Youtube.
I forgot the youtuber's account I didn’t forget this trick.
If you are sick and tired of your lip gloss and lip balm colors
you can upgrade it and by using your pink,
red coral or gold eye shadows and pigments.
All you need is to powderize the pressed shadows
or sprinkle pigments on a pea size of lipgloss or lipbalm
then mix at the back of your hand with a lip brush.
You’ll have awesome lip glosses in no time.

You’ll need:
Eyeshadow or pigment of your choice
Clear lip gloss, lip balm or petroleum jelly

D-I-Y Liquid Eyeliner
Since my eyes are somewhat small and I think it is really crease less,
some eyeliners look too harsh and strong
that I have to soften it with a black eyeshadow.
To make a softer liquid eyeliner,
you just need black eyeshadow or any dark colored ones like
dark brown or blue
chunk it and blend with water, or visine.
You’ll need:
Dark Eyeshadow of your choice
Visine or just plain water

D-I-Y Tinted Moisturizer
Actually I need a heavy coverage foundation for my blemishes
but there are times that I need to tone it down
especially if I will just go somewhere that I don’t need makeup on
and I only need to even out my skin tone.
Tinted moisturizers are only for the gals blessed with flawless skin.
You just need to enhance it and add some glow.
You'll need:
Moisturizer
Liquid foundation

D-I-Y Cheek Stain
Sometimes, I use lipsticks directly on my cheeks and blend it with my fingers
so that my cheeks will match my lips.
But if my skin is already prepped with powder,
then it’s too difficult to blend.
To make cheek stains,
just mix moisturizers/sunscreen with a creamy lipstick then blend well.
You’ll need:
A few drops of moisturizer or sunscreen
Creamy lipstick of your choice

D-I-Y  Nail Polish
I remember when I was in highschool
I used to blend different nail polishes to get the desired colors that I want.
One time I used my experimental  nail polish on my nails and my bestfriend borrowed it.
I mixed pinks, purples and glitters I think.
The next day her mom asked me what’s the name of the shade coz she liked it.
 I couldn’t answer her of course!^^
Now I learned how to do it well and hygienically. LOL
before I’m not sure if it was hygienic and the consistency was funny
coz I didn't use nail polish solvent.
You’ll need:
Nail polish solvent
Clean nail polish bottle
Nail polishes that you want to mix together

Enjoy and save at the same time!! ^_^

My Point of View: Kim Kardashian's Wedding Look

So my favorite Kardashian member got married a few weeks ago,
and I've seen a lot of makeup gurus doing makeup inspired looks from her wedding day.
Kim kept her gown and makeup concept a secret before "the day"
but the world is aware that a very awesome makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic
and her amazing glam squad will turn her into a goddess which made me excited again.

I'm kinda disappointed with her look on day the itself,
or maybe I just get used to her glowing bronzed bombshell everyday makeup
that she looked different for me.
I also saw her wax figure for Madame Tussauds prior to her big day,
which gave me an idea on what to expect but it turned out differently.
I think I shouldn't judge it in the first place coz honestly
I haven’t seen many photos and videos of her as well.
Many were saying that she looked like an Armenian princess.
I heard she really wants to look different, different from her image.
It was Nicole Richie who gave her the idea for her wedding day.

I was blog whoring and googling everything about her makeup from her wedding
and finally Mario Dedivanovic posted from his blog on how to get Kim’s look.
All the informations here were owned by Mario from his blog:
http://blog.makeupbymario.com

Here’s the break down of products used and the step by step guide:

Skin
To prep Kims skin, I used The Moisturizing Lotion by La Mer all over the face and neck.
I applied Diorskin Nude Natural Glow Hydrating Makeup by Dior to even out the skin tone.
To cover and highlight under the eyes, I used By Terry’s Touche Veloutee concealer.
I set her makeup using Chanel Poudre Universelle Libre Natural Finish Loose Powder.

Eyes
I brushed Kim’s brows then filled them in using
L’Oreal Paris Brow Stylist Custom Brow Shaping Pencil in Light Brown.
To define and play up Kim’e eyes,
I used Lancôme 5 Pan Eyeshadow Palette in Golden Frenzy
I swept the light golden shade all over the lids and
I applied the darker shade along her crease with a small liner brush.
I used  the lightest shadow on the brow bone to highlight.
Along the lower lash line,  I swept a touch of the golden/bronze shades,
focusing more towards the outer corners.
I lined her eyes (top lid only) using Cover Girl Line Exact Liquid Liner in Very Black.
Start out with a thin line at the inner corner and
gradually thicken the line as you go towards the outer corners.
Wing the liner up and out.
To give her lashes (both top and bottom)  more length and volume,
I applied two coats of Lancôme Hypnôse Doll Lashes mascara in So Black!

Cheeks
On the apples of cheeks,
I applied Lancôme Blush Subtil in Rose Romantique.
(A sheer peachy tone)
Smile and sweep right on the apple blending out and up.
To warm up Kims skin and contour her cheeks,
I used Guerlain Terracotta bronzing powder.
I brushed a bit all along the hairline and  jawline.
I  also applied some along the hollows of her cheeks to contour.
I gave Kim radiant, glowing skin with Giella’s Eye M Glam highlighter
I applied some along her cheek bones to give a dewey effect,
on the bridge of her nose, cupids bow (right above the center of upper lip)
and  I also swept it along her decolletage, shoulders and arms.
Lastly,  I applied it to the inner corners of her eyes
using a small liner brush to brighten and open the eyes.

Lips
I defined her lips using YSL Dessin Des Levres lipliner in Nude Beige
followed by Lancôme’s L’Absolu Nu lipstick in Coral Sand.
(A sheer peachy lipstick.)
I finished off her lips by adding a touch of shine with
Lancôme La Laque Fever lipgloss in Ravishing Coral.
(Very pretty color for any skin tone)
To keep Kim looking fresh from the day and into the evening,
I used TATCHA Aburatorigami Japanese Blotting Papers
(They’re all natural and powder free.)

Although she looked amazing,
I prefer her makeup look from her wax figure in Madam Tussauds.
It’s more Kim-like for me.

Also, I’m hoping I could get my hands on her limited edition Love perfume that she wore that day.

The gorgeous Kardashian/Jenner sisters all dressed in white.

Check out Pixiwoo, she made a tutorial using other makeup products.
